Top 5 Reasons You Should Vote
Here is a list I have compiled of the best reasons for someone to vote.
#5) You live In The US
If you live in a country that is based of democracy would it not go against every reason for living in a country if you just lay over during election time and not vote. I am sure there are plenty of countries that leave you no say. If you move there at least someone who wants democracy may get it.
#4) The Feeling If You Do Not Vote
Once the election is all over with and candidate x wins and then he/she goes out and totally tanks the country would you not feel bad for not voicing your opinion. Even if 1 vote cannot change an election, surely it can change your outlook after it.
#3) Why Even Have an Election
If one single vote is not heard in my opinion, the entire election is void. How can you necessarily say that any candidate won any state unless every single person eligible voted. That is like saying I bought a hot dog, but they only gave me the bun, and I am ok with that.
#2) Taxation Without Representation
The entire basis for why this country was made. You are taxing yourself for no reason, part of the reason we pay taxes is to pay for the Representatives we put into office. Is this not an injustice that you are only bringing upon yourself.
#1) You Should Want To Vote
You should want to have your voice heard. You should want to have that power and ability, and you should use that power and ability. It should make you feel good to be standing at the polls knowing that no matter what happens you could not change it. That is a good feeling to have. So this year if you do not vote, just remember that you cannot complain.
